Warriors' Jebson named BCHL Player of the Week
Monday, March 2, 2009 - Submitted by BCHL Media

Westside Warriors netminder Kevin Jebson has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending March 1st, the league announced Monday.

Jebson's outstanding performances in a pair of weekend wins paced the Warriors to a quick 2-0 lead in their best-of-five series against the Trail Smoke Eaters.

In that pair of contests, the 19-year old allowed just three goals on 62 shots, good for a 1.45 goals-against average and a .952 save percentage.

In Saturday's game, Jebson turned aside a total of 17 shots between the beginning of the second period and Westside's winning goal in overtime, holding the fort while his team rebounded from a 2-0 deficit.

A pair of other goalies -- Penticton's Jordan White and Langley's Joe Rodwell -- were also worthy of Player of the Week consideration after strong weekend showings.

Jebson and the Warriors return to the ice on Monday night when they attempt to sweep their elimination round series with the Smoke Eaters.
