The Westside Warriors received a pair of third period goals from their captain and another solid outing by their veteran goalie in a 5-2 win over the Nanaimo Clippers on Saturday night.

With the game very much in doubt and the Warriors clinging to a 3-2 lead, Trevor Bailey scored the only two goals of the third period to provide the margin of victory for the Warriors. Max French and Cole Wilson also scored for Westside, who won their fourth game in a row and moved into sole possession of third place in the Interior Conference.

Tyler Mah and Brayden Jaw scored for the Clippers.

Kevin Jebson made some key saves, especially in the second period. He stopped 21 shots in total for the victory. Loic Boivin made 20 saves and took the loss in the Nanaimo net.

The Warriors are set to conclude their three-game Coastal road swing on Sunday when they visit the Victoria Grizzlies, while Nanaimo is idle until Friday when they travel to face the Langley Chiefs.
